Kustom Semi Truck Water Tank – Service Body

Description

This Kustom Water-Tank/Service Body was built for a Water Well Drilling Company to be mounted to their Peterbilt Semi. The entire Tank, Structure, Tool Boxes, Steps, Racks, Crane Mount, and Headache Rack were all designed and fabricated in-house by us at TDK. 

Constructed from 3/8″ and 1/4″ Steel Plate, the water tank has a capacity of 2,100 gallons, is internally baffled, and has 6” Square tubing running the entire length of the tank to hold hoses and pipe. The Crane mount is also built into the main structure of the tank to tie everything together and make it as strong as possible. The heavy construction of the tank, paired with the integrated stake pockets running down both sides, allows the top to act as a flatbed to haul drill-stem to and from their locations. The driver’s side of the tank also has three built-in strap winders/winches to make securing the drill stem easier. 

The tool boxes and storage cabinet are constructed of 1/8” steel plate. We used graphite-impregnated brass bushings for a custom hinge that allows for longer life and less maintenance. 

Taking inspiration from the vent in our “Hurricane” Series Bumpers, the headache rack has the same style of vents built in for a sharp look to tie it together. The headache rack also has two mounts built in that hold Baja Designs XL Series Lights.
