Description

Throttle Down Kustoms skid kits are serious armor for your 1980-1986 CJ's transmission and transfer case. TDK skids are CNC laser cut and CNC bent for a precise fit. If you've ever started grinding to get a handmade skid to fit a frame, you know how important precision manufacturing is. At TDK, we also make Jeep frames with CNC with laser cut and bent precision. So we know exactly how the skid should fit, and exactly where the bolt holes should go.

Comments:
My son and I have transplanted in a 350 Chevy small block and then a Muncie SM465 after killing two AMC T5's behind the 350. The stock trans mount plate was OK. Given the flex it allowed we developed a few loose bolts that are key to having a transmission stay monuted. Anyways, I bought TDK's kit, used POR 15 and drilled a new set of holes to match up to my trans placement and it bolted right in. It is a very well engineered piece and quality work. When I drove the Scrambler - WOW! The TDK kit added so much structure to my whole Jeep. It is tighter and less noises and vibrations! Now I have to fix the stuff rattling on the body. Good job on this part TDK!
